UAE National Day 2023: Expo City Dubai will host the 52nd celebration of the holiday.

The official ceremony, which takes place in conjunction with Cop28, promises “innovative technologies and breathtaking projections.”
The organizing committee announced that Expo City Dubai will host the official 52nd National Day celebrations of the United Arab Emirates on December 2.

The official ceremony, which takes place in conjunction with Cop28, will showcase “innovative technologies and breathtaking projections” in a show that highlights the UAE’s rich heritage through various Sadu weaving elements. These elements are meant to symbolise the “threads of unity and sustainability across history,” according to news agency Wam.

The program will start at the origins of Emirati culture and history, emphasizing the ancestors’ legacy and the interaction between tradition and modernity.
The national day show will tell the UAE’s vision of a sustainable future in which people work together to overcome climate challenges through innovation and group action through storytelling and performances.
On December 2, the official ceremony will be streamed live on all local TV channels and the official Union Day.ae website.

After that, the public can view the exhibition from December 5 to December 12. According to Wam, ticket information will be released shortly.

Sadu weaving is a flat loom technique that can be used to create complex geometric designs.
Using wool from sheep, camels, and goats, Bedouin women in rural communities practice a traditional art form that is listed among the UAE’s intangible cultural heritage by Unesco. The women create soft furnishings and decorative accessories.

Traditionally, the textiles produced were used for soft furnishings and decorative items, such as the traditional Bedouin fabric that is only connected to Majlis furnishings.
