The Red Sea Film Festival nurtures imaginative perspectives

Under the theme “Your Story, Your Festival,” the third Red Sea World Film Festival will take place in Jeddah from November 30 to December 9.

The Red Sea Festival Lodge, the festival’s development program run in association with TorinoFilmLab and supported by the Film AlUla, is a crucial part of the event.

Red Sea Labs is the new home of the 4th Red Sea Lodge Program, which returns after the great success of the previous three.

The Red Sea Film Foundation’s Red Sea Lab is a program that aims to enable writers, filmmakers, and other industry professionals to fulfill their creative dreams.Red Sea Labs chief Ryan Ashore stressed the need of development in adding more areas during a media engagement on Monday at the Ritz Carlton in Jeddah.

We began filming in several parts of AlUla as it is the primary sponsor. Participants will compete for awards by presenting their movies at the Red Sea Movie Souk after ten months of training. By this time, they will have completed their pitch decks and scripts and be prepared for production.

Supporting up-and-coming artists in Saudi Arabia, the Arab world, and Africa is the program’s goal. Opportunities like access to a large network of industry executives and creative mentors will be advantageous for projects that are chosen.

Winners will get to keep some of the $200,000 in rewards.
“How To Not Get Marriage In Saudi Arabia” by Ghadeer Binabbas, “Sukun” by Lina Mahmoud, “Makkah Berlin” by Mujtaba Saeed, “By Hasnaa’s Side” by Amaal Yousef, and “Lost Soul” by Sarah Mohammed Almuneef are a few of the works of fiction from the Kingdom that have been chosen.

Projects like Mohamed Kassaby’s “An Endless Night,” Samer Battikhi’s “To Each Their Own,” Wessam Hachicho’s “Temporary Lives,” Wissam Tanios’ “The Sun Has Seen Everything,” and Fatma Riahi’s “My Father Killed Bourguiba” are examples of how the Arab world is represented.
