Arab Fashion Week highlights

The first-ever digital Arab Fashion Week took place online from June 24-26. Featuring designers from the Middle East to Asia, these are some of the standout collections from the virtual fashion week.

Amato

Helmed by Filipino couturier Furne One, Dubai-based Amato is known for its extravagant and theatrical gowns. The label closed out Arab Fashion Week with a romantic collection of frothy, heavily-embellished dresses.

Aavva

This homegrown brand was founded by Lebanese and Brazilian design duo Ahmad Ammar and Vincenzo Visciglia. Celebrated for their ready-to-wear gowns and dresses, this year’s collection features a special focus on sustainability.

Mada’en

The Jordanian label, founded by Dubai-based Farah Bseiso, presented a striking collection based around grand evening looks inspired by the glamour of the 1950s.

Sophia Nubes

For its latest collection, the made-in-Italy brand presented all of its expertly-crafted pieces with face masks as a nod to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

FAD

The students of FAD Institute of Luxury Fashion and Style Dubai showed their graduation collections in a runway show that featured everything from evening wear to abayas.

Founded in 2015, the Hong Kong brand’s newest collection draws inspiration from the 2013 film ‘Inside Llewyn Davis.’
