Egypt is getting ready for the “promising” winter travel season.

Authorities in charge of tourism in Egypt anticipate a 20 percent increase in income during the winter travel season this year.
Every year, tourism traffic begins to increase steadily in November and peaks in December and January.

“The Tourism Promotion Organization has made great efforts,” said tourism specialist Abu Al-Hajjaj Al-Amari to Arab News. According to its plan, it has added 18 additional tourist markets this year, notably Brazil, India, the nation of Jordan, South Korea, and Kuwait, and it will organize 44 exhibitions.

“The cities around the Nile are experiencing a thriving winter season, and the summer’s achievement was favorable to Egyptian tourism,” he stated.

The most well-liked winter travel location is Luxor in the far south of Egypt.
Experts predict that up to 90% of hotels will be occupied.

According to Osama Abdel Ghani, the head of a Luxor tourism company, “the government’s coordinated efforts are expected to make this winter season for tourism the best in Luxor’s history since the 1990s.” The fact that more people visited throughout the summer showed their enthusiasm for the tourism industry.

“Most travel agencies and lodging establishments in Luxor have secured reservations from nations all over the world,” he continued. It is anticipated that the upcoming travel season would exceed the previous one by about twenty percent. Plans are in place to offer top-notch services to travel groups while they are in Luxor.

“Luxor and Aswan are the best cities to welcome tourists from various European countries, given the growing demand for tourism.”

In light of Egypt’s stability, the season appears “promising,” according to the Egyptian Cultural Tourism Marketing Committee.

“The travel industry has been aggressively preparing for the winter months to come by participating in archeological and tourism exhibitions, particularly the Russian display, where enrollment increased by 60% compared to 2022,” the organization’s head, Mohamed Othman, reported.

The sector is concentrating on joint travels between Hurghada on and Luxor for the following winter’s season, as these trips offer a variety of visitor experiences.

It is anticipated that the English market would expand its flying schedule to four weekly flights. Along with additional attractions along the shores of the Nile, it is anticipated that the Chinese market will make a significant comeback, especially in the major towns of Luxor and Aswan.”

According to Othman, “the average tourist expenditure is projected to rise by around 20 percent compared to 2022” as a result of these inflows.
